1. Introduction to Implants
The objective of Module #1: Introduction to Implants is to give the reader a better understanding of what implants are, how they have reached their present acceptance, the materials, designs and techniques used, why they are successful, why they fail and further, when dental implants should be used. As well, the reader will be introduced to the terminology commonly used in implant dentistry plus answers to several of the most commonly asked questions by patients.

On successful completion of this module, the reader will be in a better position to discuss implant dentistry from a grounded base of knowledge with your patients and you will understand the modules that follow in this series.

2. Patient Selection
The objective of Module #2: Patient Evaluation is to teach you to better understand the medical, psychological, dental, financial, consent and medico-legal factors that need to be assessed and considered to assure success in placing and restoring dental implants in patients.

Once finished, you should be able to evaluate a potential patient to determine their acceptability for implant treatment. As well, you should be able to discuss the indications, contra-indications, benefits and risks with the patient from a scientifically evidence based position.

3. Treatment Planning
The objective of Module #3: Treatment Planning is to make you aware and learn the background, thought processes, and steps a clinician might follow to arrive at a scientifically and clinically based plan of treatment for a potential patient involving dental implants.

On successful completion of this module, you should be able to determine how many implants are required, where they can be placed, mechanical principles associated with implants and implant prostheses, how to determine which prosthesis should be used, and the fabrication of the radiological and surgical stents.

4. Surgery
The objective of Module #4: Surgical Placement of Implants is to give you a better understanding of the indications, contra-indications, pre-operative planning, surgical techniques involved, post-operative care and the problems the clinician is liable to encounter during the surgical placement of implants. On successful completion of this module, you will understand how to properly place dental implants. It is not intended to take the place of clinical experience in implant dentistry but act as an adjunct to the already qualified surgeon.

5. Uncovering & Impression Taking
The objective of Module #5: Uncovering and Impression Taking of Implants is to teach you the techniques involved and the problems the clinician is liable to encounter during the uncovering and impresion taking of implants. On successful completion of this module, you will understand how to properly uncover dental implants and the proper techniques for impression taking for restoration of dental implants.

6. Implant Restoration: Dentate
The objective of Module #6 : Restoration of Implants: Dentate is to teach you the background, rules, and techniques a clinician might follow to produce an accurate properly fitting crown or bridge over implants.

On successful completion of this module, you should be able to take proper impressions, choose the best crown abutment for the desired result, direct the laboratory to fabricate the prosthesis and secure the prosthesis properly onto the implant.

7. Implant Restoration: Soft Tissue Overdentures
The objective of Module #7: Soft Tissue Overdentures is to give you a better understanding of Soft Tissue Overdentures, how to fabricate them, how to process attachments into dentures, perform intra oral pickups and how to reline over dentures. On successful completion of this module, you will be in a better position to discuss in depth the subject of soft tissue overdentures with your patients and to understand the other modules in this series. As well, you will be able to perform the technical and chairside procedures for fabrication of soft tissue overdentures and clasp free partials and the attachment of O rings to overdentures for your patients.

8. Implant Restoration: Implant Supported Overdentures
The objective of Module #8 : Implant Supported Overdentures is to teach you what implant overdentures are, how they differ from other overdentures, the various types of attachments, how to design metal bars and the techniques necessary to fabricate metal bars and overdentures. On successful completion of this module, you should be able to take proper impressions, choose the best attachments for the desired result, direct the laboratory to fabricate the metal bar and prosthesis and secure the prosthesis properly onto the metal bar.

9. Implant Restoration: Fixed Detachable Prostheses
The objective of Module #9 : Fixed Detachable Prostheses is to teach you what Fixed Detachable Prostheses are, how they differ from other overdentures, how to design prostheses and the techniques necessary to fabricate the prostheses. On successful completion of this module, you should be able to take proper impressions, design the prosthesis for the desired result, direct the laboratory to fabricate the prosthesis and secure the prosthesis properly onto the metal bar.

10. Bone & Bone Augmentation
The objective of Module #10: Bone & Bone Grafts is to give you a better understanding of what bone is, how it functions, its physiology, histology, blood supply, types of bone grafts and what makes bone grafts successful. On successful completion of this module, you will be in a better position to discuss bone grafting from a grounded base of knowledge with your patients, as well as evaluate and understand graft materials and grafting techniques that follow in Modules #11: Bone Grafting Techniques.
